Working for Hiller Farms

Strawberry Picking Hiller Farms

Strawberry picking at Hiller Farms

Hiller Farms employ around 20 permanent staff and around 250 casual summer harvest staff.  Hiller Farms are equal opportunity employers.  All staff must comply with current legal requirements of the UK employment system, anyone from outside the EU must have the correct work visa.  Hiller Farms CANNOT help to attain visas in any way.

Around half of our summer staff come through HOPS GB who are an approved SAWS (seasonal agricultural workers scheme) agent.  The remainder of our summer staff come through Fruitful Jobs and are in the main from the EU including the accession countries.

We can provide accommodation in caravans or portacabins for summer staff, although it is not compulsory to live on site and we are happy to employ casual staff (as long as employment legalities are met) who do not live on site.  Staff living on site have the use of a free bus service to the local supermarket.

Much of the work is done on a piecework basis where you get paid for what you do.  Some jobs are paid on an hourly basis, however this is at our discretion.  Hiller Farms pays the current UK minimum wage to all casual staff.

Please note that Seasonal workers are strictly casual workers.  That means that work will be offered on a daily basis only and there is no guarantee of permanent or future employment.
